Tania Misra is a ceramic artist and the founder of Padme Hum Studio, based in Dubai. With a background in architecture and urban design from Columbia University, she has been working with clay since 2011. Her practice explores the relationship between natural ecosystems, material form, and the human desire to restore harmony with the environment. Through intricate hand-built ceramics, Tania reflects on the fragility and strength of life forms often overlooked. Her work invites the viewer into a slower, more attentive observation.
This series is rooted in the language of the ocean. Each work draws from coral formations, sea plants, and aquatic textures, shaped in clay without the use of color. The monochrome palette reflects coral bleaching and the slow erosion of marine ecosystems.
Despite this loss, the pieces remain detailed and serene. The texture becomes a voice. It speaks of beauty that survives in silence, of forms that continue to grow and hold space. These works are a meditation on vulnerability, balance, and the deep intelligence of the natural world.
