Sarah Irfan

Sarah was always interested in the arts, which honed by her mother who, equally gifted, nurtured what she enjoyed pursuing. She travelled extensively in her youth which ingrained a sense of wonder, a love of colour, atmosphere, culture, and most importantly of people I met on the way. A shy child, she loved to observe. Art college and university years introduced her to the academia, and history of art. Graduating in Fine Arts sfirstly in Pakistan, secondly in the UK, plus three months in Australia researching aboriginal art and it’s practice. The process of formulating her own artistic language had begun. Inspired by the impressionist movement in art history but more so by the contemporary artists of the time. She finds her own artistic voice in intuitive brush stroke and bright colours with a focus always on the essence of a subject rather then details. This intuitive approach has allowed Sarah to explore a variety of themes from landscapes to bustling city life, moody portraits and figurative composition. I remain open to possibility and change.
